Family Christmas Stockings

These little stockings were always hung on our Christmas tree at home growing up. "C" for Chuck, and the two "S"'s for Sandy and Sarah- just pure luck that I would marry a Chris and these would still make sense. So Mom gave them to me and now we hang them on our Christmas tree here.

Fabric & Thread Stock

I could have more, so much more! But I try really hard not to buy fabric unless I know I am going to use it. Have you ever been in a fabric store?!?! Nearly impossible not to spend hundreds of dollars on things you have no need for. I think I've done pretty well at being a minimalist about it.

Reupholstered Ottoman

This antique vanity seat was another wedding decor piece. It was purely for looks- no one could sit on it, but I held on to it thinking I would one day fix it. So the day came, my father-in-law cut me a piece of plywood to fit and I covered it with batting and fabric. My staple guns first victim. It sits in our living room in the morning sun spot for my dog to lounge on. Perfect use for this small little seat!

Chris' Birthday T-Shirt Blanket

For my husbands 30th birthday, I pulled out a rubbermaid of his old t-shirts (yes rubbermaid- and its still half full after all of this). I picked out 25, cut them into squares and sewed them into a blanket as his gift. He truly seemed to appreciate it, though it was a gamble not asking him to cut up his shirts!

Replica Wedding Sign

Chris always goes for the traditional gift according to the year, so he hand painted this sign (a replica of the one from our wedding) on a sheet of linen which is the traditional gift for anniversary number 2. A lovely reminder of our wedding, anniversary and to always drink it all in!
