Sewing Table
This is another piece I inherited from my Grandma Jean. But not directly from her and that's the cool part behind this piece. Grandma Jean was a "famous-small-town-crafter" having put on the annual Grosse Isle craft sale from 1988 to 2004, and sewed and created many pieces through the years. Of course it would be that I didn't begin to be interested in sewing until after she had passed. I had mentioned to my cousin Amanda, and a number of my other bridesmaids my hope to learn how to sew, and wouldn't you know it- at my wedding shower, the gift I received from my bridesmaids was my Grandma Jean's sewing table along with a brand new sewing machine. It was an extremely thoughtful gift and gesture. One of those moments I think I will always remember. Those girls melted my heart a little that day, and every day I sit at that sewing table (which this month is almost every day), I think of them, and my Grandma and am grateful. Grateful to have such amazing women in my life, both young and old who take the time to think of others, who struggle just as I do but can always bring a smile to someone else face if needed and who I know I can count on whenever the time may come.
